  I walked into Dr. Grussenmeyer's office PAIN-FREE about a month ago (Mid March 2016) to find a nice lobby and reasonably polite staff. My main concern was working out my costs because I abhor unexpected financial surprises so they were kind enough to contact my insurance co. (Aetna- IN NETWORK) and even give me a copy of what they would cover. I had a routine exam (which was very thorough), 1/2 mouth deep gum disease cleaning and 2 "white-filled" teeth across 2 visits within a week of each other. I clearly asked what my portion would be when 1 or the 2 receptionist/assistants (both stating their name was "Sharon") said I'd need to pay a $50 deductible, and $50 towards the 1st visit, and $90 for the 2nd visit where the cleaning was complete and 2 teeth were filled. I paid the $190 in full. I've had pain in the lower left area of my mouth ever since and it is also extremely sensitive o both warm and cool temps. Very upsetting especially since I walked in with no pain at all. But that's not even the reason for the poor review because in Dr. Grussenmeyer's defense, I never got the opportunity to let him know because I was allowing time to pass to see if the pain symptoms would subside (and I'm an extremely busy mother of 3 and Full-Time NJ State Law Enforcement Supervisor and Trader... as I digress).. I received a call from "1 of the Sharons" (not sure which 1 because they play a "Sharon game" so you never know who you're talking to) asking when I'd be coming in, in an almost threatening and condescending tone saying "you'll end up at square 1 if you don't get in here soon". (Apparently she knew nothing about the health of my mouth because "Square 1" for me was least a pain-free mouth with zero emergent issues). I expressed to her that I was confused about an additional bill that I'd received stating I owed another $200. I further explained that when I asked several times about my insurance coverage (which they said they never seen one that had a $3000 limit as mine does) that My portion will be worked out. I had no reason to believe otherwise because they had the coverages in black and white, they have the costs of my services, and I'm pretty sure they had a calculator. "SharonX" said, well I'm not the one who told about your coverage. So I said, Well then "who is this"? She said, "It's Sharon". I replied "Sharon who"? She says " THAT'S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS"!..
  I laugh now as I write this, because I realize we live in a whole chock-full of unconscious people that are here to bless you with challenges, but I was surely taken aback. She went on to say, without any attempt to explain what went wrong with the explanation of benefits, or offering to have me speak to the "other Sharon"... "Look Lisa, IF YOU DON'T WANT TO PAY UP JUST TELL ME NOW AND I'LL SIMPLY PLACE YOUR ACCOUNT IN COLLECTIONS''!.. ... I still can't believe her response as of this writing!...SO, long story short, there are way too many poor reviews here. I'd only go if Dr. G. fired this woman IMMEDIATELY if not sooner but there are other similar complaints so I guess they're all on the same page. Save yourself the headache, (and tooth ache) and find somewhere where the ENTIRE staff will RESPECT YOU and your need to be informed about your UPFRONT costs. I'm sure I'll have a follow-up review because I'll be picking up my X-rays in a week.Wish me luck!!!. Gotta Run and hope this helps!
